Full interview with J/99 Sailor Jules Hall

Key Yachting were very lucky to catch up Jules Hall, one half of the double-handed Rolex Sydney-Hobart Race winning team on the J/99 ‘Disko Trooper’!

Jules and his sailing partner Jan Scholten finished the 628 nautical mile race ahead of several other double-handed teams in the class which debuted this year! The team finished ahead of many other boats both double-handed and fully crewed in what was a difficult race.

Key Yachting owner Wayne Palmer caught up with Jules and chatted all things boats, prep, racing and winning! We discussed how they prepared the boat, prepared themselves, the essentials to have on board, the race and their plans looking forward!

Wayne also asked Jules some of the Key Yachting community’s questions; from set up to life on board.

It was great to get to know Jules and learn more about his experiences of such a gruelling race and the J Boats J/99.

We can’t wait to see what ‘Disko Trooper’ does in the future, and Key Yachting hope to welcome Jules to the Solent for some more J/99 sailing!
