2007 J Boats J/122

Guernsey

£149,000

The J/122 is the perfect marriage of all round J Boat performance with reassuring cruising stability, live-aboard luxury and race winning potential. Quick and responsive, powerful and stable, easy to handle and a hand-crafted cruising interior. She is the smallest boat in the J range with three double cabins as an option.

Developed with and built by J/Europe in France, the J/122 is distinguished by a well executed high quality interior, a non-overlapping sail plan configuration that helps simplify the deck layout and sail selection. Plus, the simplicity of an asymmetric spinnaker flown from a retractable carbon bowsprit makes it easy to achieve near peak performance with minimal crew effort.

The J/122 cockpit is ergonomically optimized with a floor mounted traveller, below decks mainsheet system, offshore seatbacks, remote backstay adjuster and an available removable transom storage dock box that allows one to increase cockpit storage for cruising or convert back to a lighter race mode in a matter of minutes.

As you would expect from a J Boat, the J/122 has an impressive race record. With numerous wins 'around-the-cans' on the Solent, at Spi Ouest and elsewhere; there can be no doubt that the J/122 as proved herself as a great inshore boat. Offshore she's a weapon; fully crewed, she won RORC Yacht of the Year in 2008, but she also won Class IRC 1 in the 2009 OSTAR, a single handed race across the Atlantic. Her racing success continues around the globe with class wins at the Middle Sea Race in 2011 and also in the Short Ocean Series in Sydney, Australia.

KAYA is a Grand Prix racing version of the J/122 with a fantastic specification including a high modulus mast and boom.

KAYA has been very successful since her purchase by the current owner in 2012

Med Cup 2nd 2008 - Med Cup 3rd 2009 - Winner J Cup Hamble 2013 - Winner Jersey Regatta 2014 - Winner Channel Island inter island race 2015 overall and Class (80 boats) - Winner Jersey Regatta and Channel Island IRC championship 2016.  These are just a few of the boat's successes, having successfully campaigned the boat in the Channel Islands since 2017 and have pretty much won every major event / race in the area.
