1996 J Boats 110

Inverkip, Inverclyde, United Kingdom

£69,500

Yacht Bluebird is a fine example of the “J Boats” designer’s inroad into the cruiser/Racer category. Here there is more emphasis on interior luxury than the famous J Boats usual minimalistic interiors.  Considerable extra expense lavished on Bluebird’s interior enhances her comfort levels whilst still maintaining the classic J boat superior sailing performance. This really lovely Yacht has had only two owners from new and both owners have been very particular in maintaining her immaculate condition.  Her high tech fractional rig includes the Hydraulic Backstay, serviced by Allspars in 2016.  Bluebird has a very extensive Sail Wardrobe, (including new 2018 performance Mainsail and Genoa by Owen Sails) giving Bluebird an exciting edge when cruising or racing.

J/110's performance is a function of low vertical centre of gravity (VCG), a narrow waterline, draft and higher sail area to displacement ratio. A key contributor to lowering weight in the design is high-tech Baltek laminate construction with 60-70% glass content from TPIs patented SCRIMP resin-infusion process. With Fin Lead keel and spade rudder. Wheel steering and workable cockpit with Halyard winches on the coach roof and Genoa winches well placed for easy shorthanded sailing.

Bluebird is in immaculate condition below and above decks and has been upgraded continually with new equipment since 2016, including Inverter, 240 V charger, AGM batteries, electric pump (Jabsco Vflo 5) for fresh water, bilge and shower tray, and new wiring professionally installed, new Jabsco manual toilet installed 2017, new galley and head mixer taps with plumbing upgrade in galley sinks.

Electronics: High spec, with large size Raymarine C80 Chartplotter fixed at wheel on plotter pod with integrated Raymarine gimbled radar overlay plus Autopilot. Multiple instrument screens in good vision area of helm, with new I60 Transducer and Screen. New VHF Aerial and new cables direct into ICOM VHF.

Safety Equipment: Certified Ocean Safety 6 man life-raft, plus Solas grab bag, 8 fully serviced automatic lifejackets, 6 certified fire extinguishers and fire blanket for galley. Bluebird has very high spec of Safety equipment and nothing has been overlooked.

Bluebird has been wintered in Scotland out of water every year since new. Her engine has been regularly serviced as has the folding max prop which has also been fully stripped and serviced by Darglow Engineering, and has had a new anode system fitted.

Underwater hull was stripped right back in 2016 to gel coat and primed and antifouled again to achieve a super smooth finish.

Bluebird is ready to sail and the owner would welcome any potential buyer the opportunity of viewing the boat and a test sail. Viewing the boat is essential to realise fully what the boat has to offer and her very high specification.

J110’s Deck with wheel steering and workable cockpit with Halyard winches on the coach roof and Genoa winches well placed for easy shorthanded sailing. J110’s interior design. Its light and open. The impression is clean and functional. The eye can see the shape of the hull from below, yet looking outside from below the view is over the deck through large ports. It’s a though one didn’t go below decks at all. The sense of spaciousness is created by J110’s classic American cruising yacht décor. Antique white panels beautifully trimmed in cold moulded teak.
