introduction

The design of this sleek performance cruiser-racer has evolved from extensive research into the IRC and ORC rules and builds on the proven racing success of the Grand Soleil 43′ OT and the Grand Soleil 46′.

The Grand Soleil 39′ is extraordinarily sleek and elegant. She features flush decks and hatches along with recessed roller furling for the non-overlapping headsail. She has an open transom, a large, ergonomic cockpit and twin wheel steering: a ‘first’ for a Grand Soleil of this size. This is a design feature which has proven practical and popular with both cruising and racing sailors alike on the GS43′ and GS46′.

Below decks the GS39′ offers the same interior volume as the GS40′: eight berths in three cabins and the saloon, a classic ‘L’ shaped galley and an option for a second heads. Characterised by customisable luxury and enriched with superyacht details, the boat is conceived to combine comfort, style and functionality. Numerous natural light points, solid wood elements in alternation with white linear surfaces, all contribute to render the interior design of this yacht fresh, modern and bright.

Advanced construction techniques have been employed to ensure that the GS39′ is seaworthy, fast and manageable. Like the Grand Soleil 50′, the boat is built using a carbon fibre grid pan structure. This construction technique saves weight in the build but increases the stiffness and therefore the performance and durability of the boat. The GS39′ has a highly efficient hull shape designed to ensure minimum wetted surface under sail and she has a T-shaped keel to drive upwind speed. The high ballast ration means that the Grand Soleil 39′ can easily support her powerful sail plan whilst remaining well mannered and manageable even with just a small crew.
